A lot of questions are needed to be answered once Station 19 season 4 premieres this fall on ABC. For Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz), she needs to deal with the fact that her mother is still alive. This is a big revelation, given that she has long believed that she's already dead.

Station 19 season 4 could explore what really happened to Andy's mother. There's a question as to where she's been all this time and what she's been doing all along. Also, it's a mystery why his father, Pruitt Herrera (Miguel Sandoval), kept the truth from her for many years.

Andy's father could hold some answers to these questions. However, he's dead now so Ortiz's character has to figure that out for herself. It's yet to be seen whether her mother willingly left or something happened that's why she and Pruitt decided to fake her death.

But, while this storyline will be explored in the new season, it seems like the creative team is going to a different approach in addressing this matter. Speaking to TV Insider, executive producer Paris Barclay said that Andy's life will be complicated now that her mother arrives.

Yet, he made it clear that her presence won't be as devastating as what viewers might expect. His statement likely suggests that there's still a lighthearted moment beyond the drama. This revelation may just be part of a bigger storyline moving forward.

As for what else is coming in Station 19 season 4, Andy's marriage with Robert Sullivan will be explored, as well. They could face some challenges along the way since their on the early phase of being a married couple. However, Barclay teased fans will be "surprised and delighted" by the developments.

Meanwhile, the firefighter series kicks off with a pandemic-themed storyline and Grey's Anatomy season 17 crossover. The official poster of the latest installment comes with a tagline: "First one to respond, last to surrender."

Station 19 season 4 might be different from the previous installments. The early run focuses on what's currently happening in the world. A lot of things changed this year due to the global health crisis. Now, the series will take on real-life events and tell a story about it through the show's perspective.

The team puts their lives on the line to save other people but increasing their risk of acquiring the infection in the process. We're going to see the firefighters doing their job amidst the pandemic and how far they can go in order to help others.
