Station 19 season 4 has started filming just recently. The series is one of the many shows that have been affected because of the current global health crisis. Now, the cast and crew are back to work and ready to deliver more stories moving forward.

Fans could expect a lot of interesting stories entering Station 19 season 4. The series has been delivering unexpected twists and turns, as well as dramatic content. In fact, the previous installment was the hardest one, so far, for Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz).

She lost her childhood friend, Ryan Tanner (Alberto Frezza), in the early run of season 3. Then, later on, her father, Pruitt Herrera (Miguel Sandoval), died. These are just some of the things she has to deal with in the upcoming installment.

What's more is that she found the truth about her mother, who's not really dead. She needs to figure out the reasons why they chose to hide the truth about it. She's been through a lot and some of the things that happened to her have hugely impacted her life.

Now, the question is: will the darkness continue in Station 19 season 4? Showrunner Krista Vernoff has something to say about this particular subject. In a recent interview with TVLine, she discussed what's coming for the Andy and other characters moving forward.

Vernoff said that the fourth installment gets hit with a pandemic, something that will coincide with Grey's Anatomy season 17. Yet, the showrunner made it clear that they'll still have a "lighter season" as planned compared to the previous one.

It looks like writers want to incorporate some happiness in the story amid the hard times. Vernoff explained that there's real darkness and so much death in season 3. But, in Station 19 season 4, we could see the team pulling together and finding a lot of joy despite the heaviness of the world.

Perhaps, this is a way to balance out everything that's going on in the world at the moment. The series wants to deliver lighter stories amid the dark times. We could see most of the characters comforting each other and sticking together when the situation gets hard.

As for the official release date of Station 19 season 4, nothing is confirmed as of this writing. There's still uncertainty as to when it could arrive given that filming has just started. But, some speculated it could premiere at some point in November on ABC.
