This is a clear indication that the second installment will have the same theme. But, it will look different this time around.
One of the reasons for changes in the real-life health crisis. Everyone needs to work carefully and keep a safe environment to ensure their safety on set. Aside from dealing with the pandemic, the new season could deliver a story about this particular subject, as well.
Grey's Anatomy season 17 will address the current global health crisis during its early run. Hence, Station 19 season 4 will do something similar, given that both shows exist in the same universe. These two series will take on these timely topics.
Most of the characters are first responders and to have a job like this amid the pandemic isn't easy. They need to save other people while trying to save themselves and the people they love. They'll be facing a long period of isolation, spending time away from their family, dealing with constant stress.
In addition to the pandemic-related stories, Station 19 season 4 will further explore the personal lives of the characters, especially Andy Herrera (Ortiz). She's been through a lot in the third installment and the aftermath of everything that happened will continue to follow her.
Andy lost the two important people in her life: her friend Ryan Tanner (Albert Frezza) and her father Pruitt Herrera (Miguel Sandoval). Moreover, she learned the truth about her mother, who's not really dead. Now, she needs to figure out the reasons why they hide the truth about it.
Meanwhile, Stefania Spampinato was promoted as a series regular. She plays the role of Andre DeLuca's sister, Carina DeLuca, who is the potential love interest of Maya (Danielle Savre). She appeared in several episodes in the previous installment, with the season 3 finale being the notable one.
It's exciting to see how Carina factors in the lives of the firefighters, given that she doesn't work at the station. The character could bring new stories to the lives of the characters, most especially with Maya. Their relationship may further evolved in Station 19 season 4.
