Blue Bloods season 11 might be a little different once it arrives on CBS. The family dinner has been a standard part of the series, but we could see less of it this time around. A lot of things have changed over the past few months because of the current global health crisis.

While Blue Bloods season 11 could still feature family dinner scenes, they could be presented differently now. There are certain health guidelines and measures that need to be followed in order to ensure the safety of everyone on set.

Still, the cast and crew are seemingly doing their best to deliver family dinner scenes in some shape or form. Previously, Bonnie Somerville, who plays Paula Hill, teased that she and Donnie Wahlberg (Danny Reagan) were at a family dinner.

What's interesting here is that Paula is with the Reagan family, given that she's Joe Hill's (Will Hochman) mother. As for the family dinner, it looks like it could be moved outside. This is one of the ways to follow the proper social distancing measures, rather than being confined in an isolated space.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that the previous installment was cut short due to the coronavirus outbreak. There are still a few episodes left in season 10 and some of these will be incorporated in Blue Bloods season 11. The series may pick up where it previously left off.

Beyond that, there are no further details as to what the upcoming installment would look like. But, some rumors suggest that Somerville's character could play a significant role in the early run of the new season. Paula might be working alongside Danny Reagan.

One of the major questions about this character is: why did she hide the truth about Joe Reagan's son? There could be a huge reason behind it and it's interesting to see how Joe Hill's presence could impact the family. More stories might be unraveled along the way.

Blue Bloods season 11 could address where Paula and Joe have been all along. The latter's arrival could affect other members of the NYPD, as well. However, it remains to be seen whether these two would be part of the series long-term.

When it comes to the official premiere of the new season, nothing is confirmed until now. Recently, CBS unveiled the premiere dates for the fall season, but the Tom Selleck-led series' future remains uncertain. Further announcements from the network might be made in the coming weeks.

For now, Blue Bloods season 11 is slated to premiere in either late 2020 or early 2021.
