Succession season 3 hasn't started filming as of yet. The production schedule has been postponed earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But now, it looks like the cast and crew are seemingly getting ready to start working again before 2020 ends.

In a recent report from TV Insider, series star Jeremy Strong revealed during The Late Late Show with James Corden that they'll be back "in a few weeks" to film Succession season 3. The actor, who plays Kendall Roy, added that it's "imminent, looming, and he's ready."

Originally, production was scheduled to begin in early 2020, but that wasn't followed due to the current global health crisis. Although Strong said they'll start in a few weeks, he didn't reveal the official start date. Yet, it's apparent that filming will start before the year ends.

When it comes to the release date of Succession season 3, nothing is guaranteed right now. Since production is just yet to begin, the premiere might be a little bit down the road. The series could return in the middle of 2021, though the official schedule still depends on HBO.

The series follows the Roy family, the owner of the conglomerate Waystar RoyCo. The family's patriarch, Logan (Brian Cox), experienced a decline in health and now looking for his business successor. His four children are all vying for prominence in the company.

Succession season 3 picks up the events that happened in the season 2 finale. The company has been a huge part of the family and it continues to be the center of everything moving forward. Logan's children will do their best in order to get the position they want.

Connor (Alan Ruck) is the eldest son of Logan from his first marriage. He was mostly removed in the corporate affairs and announced his bid for President of the United States in season 2. He's more interested in politics despite his young age.

Kendall is the second eldest from Logan's second marriage. The power-hungry son is determined to take over the company. He's presumed to be the natural successor to his father. However, he's struggling to prove his worth due to major deals and battle with substance abuse.

Roman (Kieran Culkin) is Logan's third and youngest son from his second marriage. He is immature and doesn't take his responsibility seriously. He lacks the common sense his father requires of him most of the time and often at odds with Kendall.

Shiv (Sarah Snook) is Logan's youngest and only daughter from his second marriage. She is politically savvy and worked for presidential candidate Gil Eavis (Eric Bogosian), who's political view clashed with Waystar RoyCo. Shiv is married to Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen).

While waiting for Succession season 3, viewers can watch seasons 1 and 2 on HBO Max.
