Attack on Titan Season 4 will end the anime series loved by many over the years. Although it will be a sad goodbye to fan-favorite characters, like Eren, it promises to give Hajime Isayama's masterpiece a proper ending. So, here's everything we know so far.

According to Devdiscourse, there will be new characters coming to Attack on Titan Season 4 that will end the anime series in a good way. The show's official Twitter account revealed the final season's release date and in no time, the beginning of the end is about to come.

It gave a glimpse of the new key visual, featuring the Scouts in their new outfit. They also look a little older here.

This gives birth to the theory that the new season may feature a time jump after the events of Season 3. Of course, Yuki Kaji returns as Eren. Fans will also see Marley making a comeback.

The final season is expected to delve deeper into the history of Titans' powers and abilities. The Attack on Titan Season 4's official synopsis revealed the battle to retake Wall Maria is about to begin.

Thanks to Eren's new "hardening ability," the Scouts are confident they can close the wall and take Shiganshina District back once again. If they win, Eren can finally reveal the secrets behind the basement and the world.

However, danger still looms as Reiner, Bertholdt, and the Beat Titan have some sinister plans to do. From here, fans are about to see a final battle for the survival of humanity.

The expectations are now high for Attack on Titan Season 4. In the previous season, Eren, Hange, Mikasa, Armin, Levi and the rest of the Survey Corp learned they weren't the last humans that ever existed, Video Tape News noted. They all came from a race called Subjects of Ymir, who could turn into Titans themselves.

Anyhow, aside from the excitement, the final season is also surrounded by controversy. Fans wonder what incites the show's last-minute studio shift.

From WIT Studio, Attack on Titan Season 4 will be now helmed by MAPPA studio. In an interview with Newtype magazine, via Anime News Network, the show's producers, Kensuke Tateishi, Toshihiro Maeda and Tetsuya Kinoshita, talked about the change.

The three assured they would give Isayama's story the explosive finale it deserves despite the change. Tateishi explained they consulted WIT Studio about the adjustment.

As the creators, they wanted the final season to "escalate even further." At first, many studios turned the producers down due to the big responsibility doing Attack on Titan Season 4 had.

Fortunately, MAPPA stepped up. WIT Studio was at ease knowing MAPPA would handle the final battle of Eren and the Survey Corps. Attack on Titan Season 4 is set to be out on December 7 in Japan.
