Randy Orton shocked the WWE universe when he beat the now-former champion, Drew McIntyre, for the heavyweight belt. Most know the animosity brewing between the two WWE stars but not many expected the “Legend Killer” to come out victorious.

Thus some are left wondering what diabolical plot the WWE has up its sleeve. For those who were able to catch the last episode of WWE Raw, a glimpse of things to come may have been revealed.

First off, McIntyre is still around. As Orton was being interviewed in a segment of “Moments of Bliss,” the former champion emerged and attacked Orton on the set. A rematch is brewing although another face was inserted in the mix – Bray Wyatt also known as “The Fiend.”

With two WWE stars ready to rumble with Orton, there is a chance that a Triple-Threat match could be happening in one of the upcoming shows. Unfortunately, WWE fans will have to wait. That will not happen on WWE Survivor Series slated to happen on Nov. 22. Orton will face WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a champion vs. champion encounter.

Though that is set, expect some side plots happening along the way. McIntyre and Wyatt are expected to get involved in some capacity to set up a titular match. A date for that match has yet to be set.

For now, WWE fans may consider the surprise title win of Orton as something that would send “The Viper” into the record books. He now becomes a 14-time world champion, tying Triple H for the honor. Only John Cena and Ric Flair have the most number with 16.

So whenever the WWE plans to hold Orton’s first title-defense, pundits feel it would be a change of hands. The only question though is who between McIntyre and Wyatt will be that guy. And once that happens, expect the two stars to possibly brew another storyline which will likely set up a Wrestlemania 37 clash.

As for Orton, the word out is that Edge is in line for a rematch, Dave Meltzer reported. The “Rated R” superstar has not been seen thus far due to injury but may emerge soon. That could come once Orton defends his title or perhaps even at Survivor Series.

Edge won their first encounter at Wrestlemania 36 while Orton leveled it at WWE Backlash. Hence a rubber match makes sense and most feel this will go down at Wrestlemania 37.
