Fans have been waiting for the coming of The Expendables 4, but nothing has come to fruition yet. News about the action-packed movie series usually comes and goes. Will Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and other iconic Hollywood A-list stars unite again for the movie franchise?

In March 2014, Pierce Brosnan revealed he would be part of The Expendables 4. However, he admitted he's not sure which movie he would appear in. He just agreed to Avi Lenner to make an appearance.

Throughout the years since The Expendables 3 ended, there have been new developments in the fourth installment. Jean-Claude Van Damme may have played an antagonist role in the next movie, Devdiscourse noted.

He is set to train his own team, from his son, Kris Van Damme, to daughter, Bianca Van Damme, to be part of the franchise. Together, they will fight the original squad of The Expendables, led by Barney Ross (Stallone).

One of the latest updates about the movie is the announcement of the Spanish distribution company, Vértice Cine. The studio will be working with Lionsgate and Millennium Films to feature The Expendables 4 as one of its upcoming projects.

Some of the confirmed casts are Statham, Stallone, Antonio Banderas, and Dolph Lundgren. Chang-Wook, Tony Jaa, and Schwarzenegger forewarned they wouldn't return to the movie without Stallone.

TechRadar247 added Stallone himself asked the Indian Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan, to be part of the film. However, the 54-year-old actor seemed to be more comfortable doing Hindi and Bollywood films instead of big Hollywood movies.

Anyhow, there will be new faces coming to The Expendables 4. Also, Randy Couture revealed he already finished the film's script last year.

He even teased he enjoyed reading the new story, so there might be a big chance the movie would go ahead in no time. Couture also expected The Expendables 4 to receive the green light this year.

In an interview via Cinemablend, he said he's not sure yet where they are on the "production scale" and getting the film moving. There are a lot of things happening behind the scenes, especially with the movie this big. Couture even admitted he does not hear anything definitive about the film yet.

There's a big possibility that The Expendables 4 will experience some delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as it has been six years since the last movie dropped, it may be safe to say that it's long overdue.
