It has been three years since fans last saw the students of Alzano Imperial Magic Academy. Yet, fans remain hopeful to see their return on Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor Season 2.
Despite the anime series' success, it has yet to receive season renewal until today. So, will a second season still hit the small screens?
According to Epic Dope, the anime series is based on a Japanese light novel series of the same name. It has a total of 16 volumes, but only six volumes have been adapted so far.
There are also six extras in the novel. Currently, the light novel series is still ongoing, so there is enough material for the making of Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor Season 2.
If this will push through, the new season may begin where it ended in the novel. It may adapt volumes number seven to 14.
Like the first season, the second installment may also have 12 episodes in the making, although it still depends on the source material. TechRadar247 noted it might feature Glenn and his disciples, exploring the secrets of the Alzano Imperial Magic Academy. Also, fans might know more about Cecelia's life.
Riel will also go to an all-female school. So, Glenn will pretend to be a girl and check the all-girls school, Sistine and Rumia.
The manga series began in 2015, written by Tarō Hitsuji, illustrated by Aosa Tsunemi, and published by Kadokawa Shoten in Japan. Seven Seas, alternatively, published its English version.
It told the story of Sistine and Rumia, the renowned magic academy students, who were doing everything they could to fulfill their dreams. Sistine wanted to be trained by only the best and reveal the secrets of the sky castle.
However, everything changed when the substitute instructor, Glenn Radars, entered the picture. His teaching was different, while he also showed a carefree attitude.
Fans are upset that they have yet to receive any information about Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor Season 2 from the creators themselves. Hitsuji and Tsunemi have yet to cancel or renew the show, so they are still hoping to see the show's return.
With its popularity and fans' continuous demand, there may be a big hope for the anime series' renewal. So, although there is no news about Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor Season 2, viewers are still expecting to see its release in 2021, Otakukart noted.
