BLACKPINK released two music videos on Aug. 8, 2016, for “Whistle” and “Boombayah” to mark their official first day in the K-pop world. These songs quickly garnered a lot of attention, as it was a fresh change from the bubblegum pop concept of the other female groups at the time.

But, BLACKPINK is not only known for its fierce style and cool vibe, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa's music videos are always top-tier. Now, netizens believe that the reason for their next-level MVs is all because of Seo Hyun Seung.

Seo Hyun Seung is a popular director, who has worked with BLACKPINK in most of their music videos. He is known for building film sets and creating intricate props instead of relying on computer-generated imagery or CGI.

One netizen took to an online community to share behind-the-scenes photos of some of BLACKPINK’s music videos. It can be clearly seen that Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa were not just performing in front of a green screen like other music videos, and they were in an actual set.

Netizens are so impressed by the hard work put into BLACKPINK’s music videos, and they expressed their complete awe on social media.

"I loved director Seo Hyun Seung work from a long time ago. BLACKPINK's music videos are really good because of him,” one wrote. "I'm so shocked they made all the props. No wonder the music video is well made,” another one shared.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is known for breaking records ever since they became a part of the industry. Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa may have just started their career less than five years ago, but they are already considered to be four of the most successful artists in the K-pop world.

BLACKPINK also found success outside South Korea and throughout Asia. Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa even made history as the first K-pop girl group to perform at Coachella in 2019.

And when BLACKPINK dropped its first-ever full album on Oct. 2, it was a sure hit. According to Hanteo Chart, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa sold 589,300 copies in one day. This achievement sets a new all-time record for girl group album sales on the first day.

BLACKPINK actually broke their own record. The girls surpassed their previous record for “How You Like That,” which sold 204,300 copies in one day. A chart shows that Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa’s sales keep getting higher every comeback.
