It may only be more than six months since last fans saw the story of Clancy on Netflix, but fans are now clamoring for The Midnight Gospel Season 2. With the show's success, turning to be one of the most anticipated adult animated web series, will it receive a renewal?

With its unique visuals, animation, and storyline, it cannot be denied that there is high hope for the coming of The Midnight Gospel Season 2. The show's co-creator Duncan Trussell told Deadline, via Devdiscourse, that just like fans, he, too, is waiting for Netflix's decision to renew the series.

Although Trussell didn't say anything about the much-awaited renewal, his interview just made the assumptions for the show's second season stronger. He even revealed there are a lot of stories they can tell about The Chromatic Ribbon.

According to Digital Spy, aside from being based on the podcast conversations of Trussell's The Duncan Trussell Family Hour, it also featured some "overarching storylines." This plot was derived from what might have been "Clancy's death."

In the final episode, fans saw the police shot Clancy. He then fell into the simulator and woke up in a world where other dead spacecast guests were in. When he asked these people if he were already dead, they told him to "just be here now."

Whether Clancy is still alive or not, The Midnight Gospel Season 2 may continue his journey. The new season may feature his afterlife story with new conversations about the nature of existence.

By the looks of it, Bustle noted there are enough materials that Trussell and his co-creator Pendleton Ward can adapt to make a new season. The 46-year-old actor's podcast has almost 380 podcast episodes.

Season 1 only featured snippets of his old conversations with fellow comedians Johnny Pemberton and Christina Pazsitzky, the radio host Phil Hendrie, and actor Natasha Leggero. The talks were all "freewheeling," as Trussell let his guests took control of the discussion.

They talked about anything under the sun, from "highbrow to lowbrow." However, fans still have to wait and see if Netflix will order new episodes for The Midnight Gospel Season 2.

With the show's overwhelming response and positive review, it is not far that the streaming giant will give it a renewal in no time. The first season was strategically dropped on April 20, hinting how trippy it could be.

So, if ever The Midnight Gospel Season 2 comes to fruition, it may be out on the same date next year.
