Fans may experience more of the apparent "droughtlander" as Outlander Season 6 may take a while before it hits the small screens. While details about the new installment remain scarce, Sam Heughan gave a few teasers in his latest interview.

Cheat Sheet reported what went down with the series star's virtual discussion with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest. Some of the details include the production's current movements, as well as the scenes that they will be doing for the new episodes.

Ripa shared her thoughts about the anticipated "love scenes" in the sixth season. She said that it would be more "interesting" considering all the safety protocols that they need to follow amid the pandemic crisis.

Seacrest, then, asked Sam Heughan if Outlander Season 6 will still have their iconic "steamy" moments. The actor immediately stated that he now has to observe the proper social distancing measures, adding that he needs to stay two meters apart from his co-stars.

Heughan agreed to Ripa's remarks that making these kinds of scenes will be "interesting." While he was not direct with his response, he countered that these moments are "an essential part" of the historical drama. Hence, he hopes that the upcoming set of episodes will still have them.

The hosts, also, asked Sam Heughan whether they are now working on the new episodes for Outlander Season 6. He revealed that they are all "gearing up" for the filming and shooting.

He, later on, disclosed that he already did a few "costume fittings." The 40-year-old actor clarified, however, that the production will have to "adapt," adding that they will have new ways to work around the whole set.

In the end, he expressed his enthusiasm toward working on the new episodes. He said that he is "excited" to go back to work, just like the rest of the cast members.

Sophie Skelton, who plays the role of Briana, also, declared her excitement about Outlander Season 6, according to the Daily Express. Alongside her co-stars, she told her audience back in August that they are all looking forward to getting back together in Scotland. She even thanked Diana Gabaldon, the author of the book series of the same title, for the material that they are using.

To date, it remains unclear when the production will exactly begin. Accordingly, no one knows when Outlander Season 6 will drop on Starz. But, given the current timeline, Decider seemingly concluded that the earliest possible release date might be in late 2021.
