WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for Law & Order: SVU season 21 finale. Read at your own risk.
Law & Order: SVU season 22 episode 2 is coming in two weeks on NBC, with the title "Ballad of Dwight and Irena." This is a significant episode for Ice-T's Odafin "Fin" Tutuola, with the wrongful-death lawsuit being at the center of everything.
Law & Order: SVU season 22 episode 2 is setting something big for Fin moving forward. Based on the synopsis, he will be giving his deposition in the lawsuit filed against him. This will put him in the spotlight and it could be a huge part of his storyline in the latest installment.
In the season 21 finale, Fin discovered that Leon Fuller (James Udom) -- a man convicted and sentenced to a year -- was going out of prison after six months. He reached out to Leon's wife, Joelle (Afi Bijou), to offer his support. She appreciated everything at first, but the situation gets complicated later on.
Fin wasn't confident that Leon won't go after Joelle and son Andre, so he gave the latter a phone and asked him to secretly contact him if something bad happens. While his actions seemed to cross the line, it paid off when the child called him because his father showed up.
Fin arrived at the apartment and saw Leon holding Joelle at knifepoint close to her neck. The situation got even more dangerous when Leon traded his wife to Andre, prompting Fin to pull his gun and shot him in the head. Leon died instantly and it terrified both Joelle and Andre.
While Fin wasn't happy with what he did, he didn't regret his actions. However, the season 21 finale ended with Joelle suing him for wrongful death. This storyline has been set up for what's coming to Ice-T's character in Law & Order: SVU season 22 episode 2 and beyond.
As for what else views can expect, Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and Kat Tamin (Jamie Gray Hyder) will be responding to dangerous domestic violence. Also, we're going to see Riki Lindhome appearing in a guest star role within this episode.
Meanwhile, the premiere episode is set to air next week before Law & Order: SVU season 22 episode 2 arrives the following week. In "Guardians and Gladiators," the squad will solve an assault in Central Park. But then, it was hindered by their blind spot and people losing trust in the police.
Law & Order: SVU season 22 episode 2 airs on Thursday, Nov. 19, on NBC.
