Fans are worried about the fate of Lauren German's Chloe Decker after spotting some clues that the character may die in the second half of Lucifer season 5. Some viewers predicted that she could meet her tragic death at some point -- leaving Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) and others in pain.

Lucifer season 5 was split into two parts, though the decision wasn't entirely due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The original plan is to release the first eight episodes and then releasing the remaining parts in either late 2020 or early 2021.

After encountering series of filming delays due to the pandemic, the sixth installment -- which serves as the final one for the series -- officially kicks off production. While Ellis and other cast members have been sharing some behind the scenes updates, some fans noticed German was nowhere to be found.

Because of this, they speculated that her character Chloe will be killed off in the second half of Lucifer season 5. Fans pointed out that the actress wasn't yet spotted filming for the sixth installment, suggesting that her story was wrapped already.

Some believe that it might just be a coincidence, but others were convinced that Lucifer Morningstar will be dealing with the aftermath of Chloe's death in the series finale. This speculation first emerged by a recent post on Reddit, indicating Lesley-Ann Brandt's (Mazikeen) comment about potential death.

One user pointed out that Brandt's mentioned in an interview that a mother's death "hit her particularly hard. Her statement implied that Chloe died and left her daughter Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) behind. The fan spotted other clues from social media and further sparks German's departure in Lucifer season 5.

For instance, there are no photos or videos showing her back to work and filming. Most of the cast members have been sharing updates about what's happening off cam, but German was yet to be seen. The fan continued that the actress was asking for location suggestions as she's planning on moving soon.

But, it looks like the series has no plans to kill off one of its major players. In fact, showrunner Ildy Modrovich seemed to suggest that Chloe will make it out alive until the end. When one fan asked whether or not the character dies, she responded that they won't do something like that to her.

In the first part of Lucifer season 5, Ellis and German's characters are both heading into a more romantic and serious relationship. Also, it would be odd to kill Chloe at this point, given that she is one of the most important characters in building Lucifer Morningstar's storyline.
