The first half of Lucifer season 5 was released in August on Netflix. There are still eight remaining episodes in the second part, and a lot of exciting stories are coming here. Aside from the musical episode, fans going to see several guest stars appearing in the series.
Recently, D.B. Woodside, who plays Amenadiel, shared on his official Twitter account that there's one particular guest star set to appear in the second half of Lucifer season 5. The actor wrote that he, Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Lauren German (Chloe Decker), and an actor took part in a particular scene.
Woodside didn't identify who the guest star is, but he promised that the appearance is one of the funniest scenes ever in the series. Now, there are speculations that a comedic star would be joining the cast in the second half of the series.
The majority of Lucifer season 5 has been completed even before the pandemic and filming for the sixth installment is underway. While it's yet to be seen whether or not the guest star appears in the second half, Woodside used the hashtag #Season5b, which confirms the actor is part of the current season.
The first part sees Lucifer Morningstar facing the biggest challenge yet. He left Los Angeles to resume his duties in the underworld. However, he abandoned his throne, again, to watch over Chloe from the celestial threats. Yet, this twin brother Michael, played also by Ellis, made his life more complicated.
Michael sabotaged Lucifer's life and stole his identity. In the midseason finale, the two come head-to-head but an unexpected arrival stopped their intense battle. God (Dennis Haysbert) showed up in the closing minutes, which is a cliffhanger for the first part.
Meanwhile, TVLine previously reported that Friday Night Lights actor Scott Porter will have a significant role in the second part of Lucifer season 5. He is set to portray the character of Carol Corbett, a detective who has a past connection with Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro).
The character is described as a buttoned-up detective, who strikes up a connection with Ella. Corbett will, eventually, become part of the LAPD. Interestingly, he could have a sort of relationship with Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) at some point.
The "buttoned-up" detective description seemingly implies that Corbett is a straight-laced alternative to the usual romantic partners of Garcia's character. But then, it's yet to be seen whether this relationship is something platonic or more romantic.
The first half of Lucifer season 5 can be streamed on Netflix.
