The first part of Lucifer season 5 is currently available on Netflix. The series is on hiatus at the moment due to the current global health crisis and the return date remains unknown. The good news is that there are a lot of details about the second part, particularly when it comes to the musical episode.

During the recent DC Fandome, a new tease was presented for the musical episode of Lucifer season 5. It showed the rendition of "Another One Bites the Dust" featuring Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Lauren German (Chloe), Kevin Alejandro (Dan), and Aimee Garcia (Ella).

It looks like they're at a high school football field. The performance seemingly took place after the discovery of a dead body: a referee. Ella started the performance before everyone else gets involved. However, it appears as though the entire thing is just all in Lucifer's head.

Executive producer and showrunner Ildy Modrovich revealed during the panel that their motivation for the musical theme in Lucifer season 5 started to blossom after the Vegas episode. They've taken interest in doing such an episode after Ellis and Garcia did "Luck Be A Lady."

Co- showrunner Joe Henderson, on the other hand, said that they're trying to find fun ways to do the musical episode and the right story motivation for it. They need to justify the theme, not just making the characters perform for no apparent reason. There should be a significant push for it to happen.

Meanwhile, in a previous interview with ColliderGarcia teased what we can expect in the musical episode. The actress said that everyone did a great job and all of them sing and dance. For instance, she and Lesley-Ann Brandt (Maze) will do a "fun little something."

In addition, we're going to see a performance from Alejandro, who used to be a professional dancer. Also, the actress said that German picked up the choreography quickly since she used to be a ballet dancer. As for Ellis, Garcia noted that he had a little time to rehearse but still nailed the performance.

In another report, Lucifer season 5 has still eight episodes left. Filming was forced to shut down due to the real-life health crisis. At the moment, there is no clear indication when filming could start again. The good news is that most of the works for the second part are seemingly done.

The second part of Lucifer season 5 is expected to arrive at some point in 2021.
