Lucifer season 5 drops its first part in August on Netflix. Right now, there is no indication when will the remaining episodes could arrive. Filming was forced to shut down due to the current global health crisis and it remains uncertain when cast and crew could resume working.

There are still a lot of stories left in the second part of Lucifer season 5. For instance, it will address the huge cliffhanger in episode 8, wherein God suddenly showed up. Also, there is one musical episode coming, making fans even more excited.

Apart from that, the second part will address different stories, as well. Dr. Linda Martin's (Rachael Harris) backstory, in particular, will be explored. The first half already revealed some of her secrets in the past, specifically about her biological daughter.

In the second part of Lucifer season 5, we're going to see an episode mostly dedicated to Dr. Linda's backstory. The 13th episode is titled "A Little Harmless Stalking" and it is directed by Richard Speight Jr. Speaking to The Wrap, Speight discussed what viewers can expect with the psychotherapist.

He said the episode he directed teaches a lot on Dr. Linda. We could see more heavy scenes here, but Speight noted it's a real treat since Harris is a powerhouse actress. Even though some stories are still about Lucifer, this particular episode centers around Dr. Linda.

Speight further said that Harris' character gets herself involved in a situation that's unlike her to get involved. Yet, she does this for a reason and everything will make sense as the series progresses. He revealed that there's a lot of heart to Dr. Linda here and they won't always show her funny side.

While we could see some happy moments, the majority of the episode might be dramatic and emotional. The truth about her biological daughter will be explored, including what happened to her and where she is now. Also, Dr. Linda's other secrets might be uncovered along the way.

Meanwhile, Lucifer season 5 wasn't able to finish the entire production due to the pandemic. It remains to be seen when everything could start again since filming all depends on the current situation. The safety of the cast and crew on set remains to be the top priority at the moment.

The second part of Lucifer season 5 has no official release date right now. But, if production resumes in the coming months, the series is expected to return in either late 2020 or early 2021.
