Angelina Jolie leads a new fantasy drama this 2020. The Selma star, David Oyelowo and the renowned actress are playing the roles of Jack and Rose Littleton in Brenda Chapman's Come Away.

The film, which will arrive on big screens this November, is a "reimagination" of Alice In Wonderland and Peter Pan, according to People. It puts a new "somber twist" on the story behind the titular characters, who act as the Littleton couple's children.

The trailer for Come Away dropped on Thursday. The material introduces Keira Chansa and Jordan A. Nash, who play the role of Alice and Peter.

The announcement of the project first came in 2016. Two years later, the production welcomed Angelina Jolie and David Oyelowo as the parents of Alice and Peter.

Several high-profile celebrities joined the cast later in 2018. These include Michael Caine, Anna Chancellor, Derek Jacobi, Jenny Galloway, Clarke Peters, and David Gyasi.

Reports recalled that Come Away had its first world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020. Relativity Media and Signature Entertainment acquired the distribution rights earlier in October and consequently set its release before the year ends.

The film will come to the United States' big screens on November 13. It will take a month, however, before it gets to the United Kingdom.

Gulf News released some of the details of Come Away. The report states that the plot begins after Angelina Jolie and David Oyelowo's characters lose their eldest child.

Following the tragedy, their two younger children, Alice and Peter, escape to a "land of fantasy." This is seemingly an effort to help their parents, and themselves, as well, to cope up with the family's loss.

The fantasy drama film, which features a 19th-century setting, is Brenda Chapman's first live-action material. She previously stated that the "fantasy aspect" of Come Away is what drew her to it.

She, also, explained that the film provided the opportunity for her to tell Alice's and Peter Pan's stories "in a different way." She, later on, noted that these characters are well-loved by many, adding that everyone knows them.

Weeks prior to its release, Come Away, alongside Angelina Jolie and David Oyelowo, faced controversies after "review bombers" targeted the film, according to the Daily Mail. An "organized dislike brigade," reportedly, left "fake reviews" on the film's IMDb profile in an effort to dissuade viewers.

The site has since removed the "fake" ratings and reviews on the page. Reports said that IMDb took immediate action after Oyelowo informed them of the "attack."
