More people from various parts of the world will benefit from the new Safari Translation as Apple rolls out the feature to more countries.

Apple is reportedly rolling out the Safari Translation feature to more countries all over the world, allowing more people to access the new iOS 14 feature to translate the webpages they open in Safari. Unveiled in September during Apple's "Time Flies" event, the new iOS feature allows users to translate foreign language websites natively in Safari. All the users need to do is to tap on the "aA" icon found in the address bar to translate the foreign language webpage.

The Cupertino-based tech giant initially designed the button to control the font size on a given website. With the new update, the button has been transformed into a catchall menu for native functions in Safari, which include accessing website settings and privacy reports, as well as allowing users from other countries to translate foreign-language webpages using the Safari Translation function.

At the time of its launch, Apple restricted the new Safari Translation feature to users living in the United States. The reason for the restriction was unknown at the time, though the policy may have changed today as users from other countries report the feature is now available for them.

With the rolling out of the Safari Translation feature to more countries, along with its release of the new iOS 14.2 on Thursday, Apple believes more people will opt to use their Safari browser as compared to other browsers. Industry observers say that the Safari Translation feature is now live in Germany and Brazil. Information also indicates that many other countries may also see the feature in the next coming days.

The Safari Translation feature, which Apple recently rolled out to more countries, is different from the Translate app that the Cupertino company also introduced along with a new iOS 14 update. The standalone Translate app, which came with the iOS 14 update, integrates voice and text translations in an easy-to-use interface. At present, the app can translate between English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Korean, and Russian.

Like the standalone app, Apple's new Safari Translation feature also supports the languages available in the Translate app. It allows users to rapidly translate foreign text from any website into a supported one that they can easily understand. For instance, users in Germany who cannot understand Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or in some instances, even English, can quickly translate the text on the foreign-language into German. Industry observers say Apple may have enabled the Safari Translation option remotely when it released the new iOS 14.2.
