Fans are clamoring to see Kim Soo-Hyun and Seo Ye-Ji as Moon Gang-Tae and Ko Moon-Young, respectively, on It's Okay to Not Be Okay Season 2. Three months after the show ended airing on Netflix, is there a chance for a renewal?
The previous season closed with an open ending that left the door open for It's Okay to Not Be Okay Season 2. The hopes were high for a season renewal when Ko Moon-young visited her mother after her arrest.
However, as their interaction seemed to give Ko Moon-young the closure she needed, some believed a second season is not possible at all. Aside from the children's book writer, other characters in the series also received a complete storyline.
But, according to Devdiscourse, the scene where the Moon brothers went on their separate ways seemed to hint that there would be a new installment coming. Although nothing is confirmed as of this writing, fans are still waiting for Kim Soo-Hyun and Seo Ye-Ji's return.
In an interview with Xposrtsnews, via Soompi, Park Gyu Young, who played as Nam Joo Ri, said Kim Soo-Hyun had really great energy. Even before she started acting, she already saw his other drama series that made her worried and nervous about how their teamwork would be like.
So, Park Gyu Young asked Kim Soo-Hyun everything she wanted to know that made their collaboration "very comfortable."
If ever there would be It's Okay to Not Be Okay Season 2, there is a strong possibility Ko Moon-young's mother will return, TechRadar247 noted. Her mom warned that Ko Moon-young would not be able to get over her past.
So, does she hint at her possible return on the new season? If this happens, the evil mom may take her revenge against her daughter's prince, Moon Gang-Tae.
Elsewhere, there may be a reunion coming in the second season. Moon Gang-Tae, Ko Moon-young, and Moon Sang-Tae (Jeong-se Oh) may reunite after they all parted ways in the previous season.
Moon Gang-Tae went on a road trip, while Moon Sang-Tae decided to be a full-time illustrator. Ko Moon-young tried to convince Moon Sang-Tae not to leave but to no avail.
Will these things lead to the making of It's Okay to Not Be Okay Season 2? So far, there is no official announcement about the show's renewal.
As Korean dramas usually have just one season, it may be impossible that there will be a continuation of its story, per TeCake. However, with its success, it is not far that it may receive a renewal.
