V recently announced that he is planning to release a solo mixtape at the end of the year. Kim Taehyung shared with fans that he has been busy writing songs for his album and has so far, eight songs that he is planning to include in his mixtape, Elite Daily reported.

V will be the first of BTS' vocal line to release a solo mixtape after BTS rappers RM, J-Hope, and Suga all came out with solo material.

It can be recalled that early in the year, V agreed to produce and perform a song for the OST of Itaewon Class in support of his good friend Park Seo Joon.

Through the song "Sweet Night", V became the only artist in the history of iTunes to reach No. 1 in the chart in 116 countries. His achievement surpassed the record of Adele, PSY, and Taylor Swift on the iTunes chart, All Kpop reported.

His song "Inner Child" also topped iTunes in 82 countries, making V the first and only Asian artist to have two songs to reach No. 1 in 82 countries. While waiting for V to drop his solo mixtape, V will join his BTS co-members in promoting their upcoming album BE, which is being touted to feature the group's most BTS-esque music ever.
