Melania Trump and Donald Trump will celebrate their 16th wedding anniversary in January. While this would mark the outgoing U.S. President's longest marriage out of his three, some individuals believe that the First Lady will file for divorce in the next few months.

Amid the rumors and speculations, Zee News, alongside other publications, takes back the public to the first time when Melania and Donald Trump met each other. Based on reports, they met at a Fashion Week party in New York in 1998, during which time the model was only 28-years-old.

Sources said that the then-real estate mogul came to the event with cosmetics heiress Celina Midelfart. However, Melania Knauss immediately caught his eye, causing him to make the first move.

When his date went to the bathroom, he approached the Slovenian model and asked for her number. He also, reportedly, ensured that she would have "every possible way" to contact him as he gave all of his numbers, including the ones from his office, New York home, and Mar-a-Lago.

Reports noted that they did not immediately start to date after the meeting. Although it seemingly took time before Melania Trump accepted her now-husband's invites, their dating stage lasted for years before Donald Trump asked for her hand in marriage.

News Australia reported that Donald and Melania Trump broke up several times due to "controversial incidents." But, in 2004, the now-outgoing First Lady accepted Trump's marriage proposal, and they officially tied the knot a year later.

The wedding was Melania's first, while it was the third for Donald. They welcomed their first and only son, Barron Trump, in 2006. Nevertheless, the marriage made the Slovenian model a step-mother to her husband's four other kids.

Over the years, they continue to face divorce rumors and allegations. But, many are looking forward to 2021 as Melania Trump might already seal the talks and file for divorce.

The speculations emerged following Donald Trump's defeat from this year's presidential race against Joe Biden. Experts and former White House staff members believe that the First Lady could not do it while still in position.

Amid the talks, bookkeepers offer bets and set odds to the controversial event. Sports Betting Time released an update earlier this month, stating that the odds were set to +300.

While the figures show that it is unlikely, the site reveals the data of the bets. The "Yes wagers" will only win if Melania files for divorce on or before November 3, 2021.
