CL will postpone the release of her comeback album ALPHA until early 2021.

According to a report by Soompi, the former 2NE1 leader made the announcement through social media and cited that she decided to do more work on the album to give the fans the best comeback.

In her post, CL greeted her GZBz fandom and gave them an update of what she's been doing in the past weeks. CL said that she was in the US to work on her album ALPHA, originally planned for a November 30 release.

However, she said that as she was preparing to finalize the album, she came up with new ideas. She announced that she opted to postpone the album release to early next year to do additional work.

According to CL, she discussed her decision with her team before announcing because she wanted to make her first physical album more meaningful. She also said she wanted to keep her promise to fans who waited a long time for the album. CL expressed hope that fans will continue to wait a bit longer and that they will enjoy the fruits of her labor.

CL has been busy these past months working on her music. She recently released two tracks -- HWA and FIVE STAR.

In a livestreamed press conference, she said that HWA represents her new beginning as CL, the solo artist, Yonhap reported.

She also opened up about her 10-month hiatus after she released In The Name of Love last year as an independent artist.

CL admitted that she used the time to learn about new things and grow as an artist. She also talked about how different it was to promote her own, as compared to working together as a team with her 2NE1 co-members.

She confessed that fill the roles of all four members was not an easy task. Even though she is trying her best, she admitted that she has not yet mastered it.

However, she remains excited to explore her new form of expression through her music.

CL recently performed HWA on The Late Late Show with James Corden and shared how excited she was about the interest that the world was taking at Kpop and Korean culture as a whole. She vowed to represent her roots in the best way possible.
