Supernatural series finale is officially heading this week on The CW. This is going to be an emotional episode as it marks the final journey of the Winchester brothers, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki). But while "Carry On" brings personal stories, there's still chaos coming along the way.
Dean and Sam have defeated Chuck/God (Rob Benedict) already, and their one last mission in Supernatural series finale is to restore the balance and free-will to the universe. However, it seems like they need to save the world again before getting some personal stories ahead.
Based on the synopsis, the Winchesters must do everything they can in order to protect the world after all the souls in hell were released and free to kill again. Now, the question is: will Dean and Sam find peace after everything that they've been through?
Co-showrunner Andrew Dabb has something to say about this. Speaking to TVLine, he made it clear that having the Winchester brothers fully at peace is a "big ask." There is always something out there that will challenge them, as they are considered "soldiers."
Dabb added that even though Dean and Sam have already taken on the bigger stuff, the smaller stuff coming ahead will keep them going. He teased that something will come along and will force them back into doing their jobs. Their moral obligation keeps them from giving up the fight.
Hence, Supernatural series finale will continue to see Winchesters taking on supernatural elements. They won't stop fighting until they're certain that the world is free from evil forces. After all the fighting, they'll have their own personal storylines, which could be emotional.
Dabb teased how Dean and Sam's story is ending. He explained that the series started with the Winchester brothers going on a journey together, and it will be ending with them being together. The final episode concludes with the two and the family they've built over time.
In another interview with Entertainment Weekly, the co-showrunner revealed that the Supernatural series finale will bring an "old-school" feel. He is optimistic that fans will be satisfied with the ending since it is a "fitting end to the show."
Dabb added that he's happy with how the series is ending and he's hoping that fans would feel the same way. The episode will honor the legacy of the Winchester brothers, as well as the other characters throughout their journey for 15 years.
Supernatural series finale is coming on Thursday, Nov. 19, on The CW.
