The Day I Became a God Season 1 is about to come to an end this month, so fans are now looking forward to the announcement of The Day I Became a God Season 2. However, as its story only lasts for 30 days, is there still a chance for Hina Sato, Yota Narukami, and Kyoko Izanami's return?
P.A. Works, the studio behind the anime series and other companies related to the show, have yet to confirm the coming of The Day I Became a God Season 2. Other anime series under the said studio, like Angel Beats and Charlotte, are also yet to receive a season renewal.
So, what do these things have in common? Aside from being helmed by P.A. Works, it is also all written by Jun Maeda and is self-contained stories.
This means that any of these series have no room for a story continuation, let alone a second season. However, according to Monsters & Critics, the Charlotte manga has managed to extend its plot, so it may have a reboot that will work as its anniversary anime project.
On the other hand, Angel Beats has a prequel, titled Angel Beats! Heaven's Door, featuring Yuri's group before Otonashi arrived. It also revealed a manga remake, called The Angel Beats! The Last Operation, featuring an additional character development, which can also be adapted in an anime reboot.
Although this trend may continue, it is quite far that there will be The Day I Became a God Season 2 due to its story's manner. Anyhow, there may be a prequel, a remake, or a reboot coming. Its development may end in a manga or an OVA episode in the future.
So, what are the fans' impression of Yota and Hina's tale? With the release of six episodes so far, Honey's Anime praised the show for having solid character introductions.
The premiere episode focused mostly on Hina and Yota, and it showed strong introductions. Knowing how Maeda works, fans can expect to see a more intense turn of events as the story goes.
The anime has been "laying it on thick form" since it started airing. It also has excellent visual art/key anime, thanks to the works of P.A. Works. It is visually appealing and light to emphasize its background give viewers the "lush, last summer" setting, which is just superb.
As the anime is only left with two episodes to drop, per its IMDb page, is it possible that fans will see The Day I Became a GodSeason 2? Write your comments below.
