With only two episodes left for Season 1, fans are now wondering if there will be The Talentless Nana Season 2. The show has been receiving praises, thanks to its eccentric plot, similar to My Hero Academia and Death Note. As it continuously ranks on different anime lists, will Nana grace the small screens again?
Studio Bridge, Square Enix, and other companies related to the anime series' production have yet to announce if there will be The Talentless Nana Season 2. The studios also didn't give any production details for a second season.
Sure, the anime has been receiving positive reviews, but according to Monsters & Critics, there are no plans yet for the making of a sequel. People who work in the anime industry are contractors who jump from one studio to another every after their current project ends.
It takes years before an anime production will take place as the studio still has to complete the animation staff and voice actors who will work for the series. This has been the usual practice in the business, and the studio will never announce the coming of a new season, not until everything is ready.
Take it from Re: Zero. The anime took four years before it got a second season. With the show's continuous success, there are reports a third season is already under discussion.
This shows how long does a new season production take before it hits the small screens. Its director is said to be focusing on Edens Zero, starting in April 2021 and maybe having multiple cours.
Other team members behind Talentless Nana will also move on to do other anime series, like Shaman King, Log Horizon, and others in 2021. On the other hand, its studio has several projects to do, like its own original tale, Pon Qiao Booth.
If Studio Bridge does not helm The Talentless Nana Season 2, a different studio may handle it. However, if it gives the show the green light, fans may have to wait for some years before it finally comes out.
The Talentless Nana started to wow audience by featuring some similarities with My Hero Academia that later turned to be like Death Note, CBR noted. It became the latest addition to the animes that tell a story from the villains' point of view.
Although its animation is quite far from the "fierce intensity" of My Hero Academia and the "dramatic stylization" of Death Note, its modern art style complements its suspenseful story. By surpassing the audience's expectations, it is now part of Japan's List of Favorite Fall 2020 anime by CBR, ranking No. 10.
