With the bunch of anime high school stories today, it will be a question of what makes Horimiya different. According to CBR, this new series is underappreciated, but it is worth looking forward to.
It tells the story of a group of friends, led by Miyamura and Kyoko Hori. The two have nothing in common, but they are set to develop a close friendship.
Miyamura is quiet, wearing glasses, and has a glum expression. He always wants to be alone and invisible in other's eyes.
Hori, alternatively, is the complete opposite of him -- extrovert, popular, and a woman who wears her heart on her sleeve. When their lives begin to intertwine, they start to create a good bond that will eventually grow.
Their circle is about to expand from a group of two to a big one when Toru decides to join in, along with Yuki. Yuki doesn't think much of Miyamura, but they turn to be the best of friends. As their friendship grows, the student council president, Kakeru, also becomes one of the group.
Meanwhile, aside from the anime, Horimiya will get a live-action movie adaptation, per Anime News Network. It will also have a live-action TV series.
The movie is set to be out on February 5, 2021, and will be a one-week limited engagement. On the other hand, the seven-episode TV series will drop on February 16 of the said year on MBS and TBS, while Horimiya anime will be released on January 9.
