Former U-KISS member Eli announced his separation from his wife through an Instagram post.

According to a report by All Kpop, Eli posted a lengthy message on Instagram to share his news with his fans. In his message, he announced that he and his wife, Ji Yeon Soo, decided to part ways. Eli said that he is, currently, in the U.S. while his son Michael is living with his mom in Korea.

Eli did not elaborate on the reason for the separation. However, he expressed his desire to see his son as often as possible to fulfill his responsibilities as a dad. He also expressed hope that Ji Yeon Soo and his son will always be happy.

He thanked the fans for their support over the years and apologized that his marriage had to end this way.

Fans got to know more about Eli and his wife when they appeared as one of the featured couples on MBC's Mr. House Husband. The former U-KISS member and his wife Ji Yeon Soo got married in 2014 and welcomed their first child in 2016.

The pair generated a lot of attention because of their 11 year age difference.

During their appearance on the show, Ji Yeon Soo divulged that she had a very difficult time being married to an idol at the beginning of their relationship.

In a tearful confession, she said that she had to hide her marriage at first because it would be damaging to the image of her husband.

Eli's wife said that because of all the secrecy, she was unable able to consult an OB gynecologist when she was pregnant. She said that she was worried the whole time because the baby's health was poor. However, she was thankful because her husband understood her struggles.

Despite the challenges in their marriages, the show highlighted how both parties adjusted to new responsibilities as they raised their baby together.

In a Radio Star interview early this year, Eli talked about his marriage, different parenting styles and addressed the challenges of having to provide his family with a steady income. He said that it was especially tough when he didn't have work but he made ends meet with a part-time job. He said he was thankful to his bosses for all he learned while working, Soompi reported.
