People are still trying to deal with the conclusion of Supernatural but it looks like Dean Winchester's legacy is far from over. Jensen Ackles has just revealed how his new character in The Boys Season 3 has an unexpected connection to his character in the CW series.

Back in August, Jensen Ackles confirmed that he will be joining the cast of The Boys Season 3. The Supernatural star will be playing Soldier Boy. Needless to say, fans were delighted to know that Ackles already had a new job even before the end of the final season of Supernatural.

There is little doubt that Soldier Boy is a very different character from Dean Winchester. For instance, the comic book hero who appears in the Garth Ennis comic book series is basically a parody of Captain America who never uses foul language. Meanwhile, Dean pretty much operates on his own and has been responsible for the end of the world several times. However, the two characters share one thing other than being played by the same actor.

Jensen Ackles recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly where he discussed how he was given the chance to pick out Soldier Boy's costume in The Boys Season 3. Interestingly, the My Bloody Valentine star stated that although he didn't plan anything, he managed to add a little bit of Dean Winchester to his new character.

"I somehow managed to end up with the same kind of boots for Soldier Boy that I wore as Dean Winchester," Ackles admitted before quickly adding that it was a "different color" although it was still the same boots.

So how did it happen? Jensen Ackles explained that he was shown a variety of boots to choose from, and one of the choices happened to be the same boots he wears as Dean Winchester in Supernatural. He admitted that he told the wardrobe people that he knows that those particular boots work, and it was eventually added to Soldier Boy's costume in The Boys Season 3.

For now, it might be too early to see Jensen Ackles in action as Soldier Boy in The Boys Season 3. Nevertheless, fans can now expect the Supe to be wearing exactly the same kind of boots that Dean Winchester loves, but in a different color.

Jensen Ackles isn't the first Supernatural actor to appear in the Amazon Prime series. Jim Beaver had appeared in the first season as the US Secretary of Defense Robert "Bob" Singer, a clear reference to his character Bobby Singer. In addition to that, showrunner Eric Kripke is hoping to bring in Jeffrey Dean Morgan for an undisclosed role in The Boys Season 3.
