Apple's iPhone 12 reportedly having LTE and 5G connectivity problems with some users saying their network connection dropped unexpectedly.

When Apple's iPhone 12 arrived at the doorstep of those who ordered them, users excitedly posted the astounding features of the latest iPhone model. Many praised the mobile device's speed as it crunched benchmark tests, easily defeating some of its competitors. Recently, however, it seems that problems are starting to hound the iPhone 12. Some users report experiencing LTE and 5G connectivity issues with their new iPhone 12 models. They say that their devices appear to drop 5G or LTE connections unexpectedly.

In one post on Apple support forums, a user going by the name of 'joxesCA' reported receiving his iPhone 12 Pro on Friday, Nov 27. The user said he activated the phone on Saturday and the following day, a Sunday, he drove for about 10 minutes, and upon arriving at his destination, he saw the network connectivity indicator display "No Service." "I saw no reception bars. And in the middle of the screen in a grey box: Your iPhone is not Activated. The only way to get the connection back was to toggle Airplane mode to ON then OFF. The iPhone had the cellular mode to 5G Auto. I switched it to LTE to test. And it was the same," joxesCA said. The user is only one of those who complained about their iPhone 12s suddenly dropping LTE and 5G network connectivity in a rather unexpected manner.

Some users report they tried resetting the network settings in the hope that their iPhone 12 will display even just one network connection bar. Most of them found, however, that resetting the network settings did not help much and for others, their iPhones' LTE and 5G connectivity issues kept on happening. Many say their network connection suddenly and unexpectedly dropped.

There are suggestions that the iPhone 12s LTE and 5G connectivity issues are carrier-related as Verizon and AT&T users also report having the same issues with their iPhone 12s suddenly and unexpectedly dropping their network connections. There are also speculations that the cause of the issue could be in the manner the iPhone 12 is performing the switch from one cellular tower to the next, causing LTE and 5G network connections to suddenly and unexpectedly drop.

While Verizon is reportedly aware of the issue, it is unclear if the iPhone 12 LTE and 5G connectivity issue is something that Apple needs to fix. If it is a carrier issue, then Verizon and AT&T would have to do something about it or work something out with the Cupertino tech giant.
