Ultear may return to save Masane Amaha. Now that Dr. Giovanni is out of the way, everyone can now work hand in hand to keep the Tokyo Empire safe.
There is also a possibility that Maki Oze's return to Company 8 has something to do with saving the realm. By the looks of it, she will also help to save the kingdom.
The upcoming 23rd episode may serve as the season's penultimate episode. As the first season only had 24 installments, the second season will likely be the same.
In the previous episode, Shinra and Arthur faced Giovanni, who used his insect ability to know their next move. When Shinra learned that the Adolla Link made him heard Giovanni's voice in his head, he remembered the same thing happened with Lieutenant Konro.
In other events, Licht told Commander Honda that the Evangelist wanted to destroy the Tokyo Empire's center by exploding Infernals. He knew Maki could redirect the explosion, but it had some dire consequence. They might be "incinerated underground," per Video Tape News.
