Actor Jo Jung Suk bagged the Best OST award at the 2020 Melon Music Awards for performing the main track for his drama Hospital Playlist.

According to a report by All Kpop, Jo Jung Suk took home the award for the song "Aloha," which he sang for the drama's original soundtrack. The actor, who won multiple acting awards in the past, was elated to be recognized for his vocal skills as well.

In his acceptance speech, he said he still could not believe that the song fared so well on the Melon charts. He said that he felt like he brought honor to his family with the recognition.

Jung Suk also shared a message for his wife Gummy, who is recognized as South Korea's Queen of OSTs. The actor took the opportunity to tease his wife in his speech and make everyone laugh.

"If I were to say something to her. (It would be) Are you seeing this?" he said.

Jung Suk also thanked the staff and cast members of Hospital Playlist as he shared the honor with them.

This was not the first time that Jo Jung Suk and Gummy talked about the actor's unexpected success as a singer.

During a recent guesting for Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook, Gummy talked about her husband topping Korean music charts for his contribution to Hospital Playlist's OST.

She said that, even though she received the Best OST award in the past, she believed that her husband would be the one getting the award this year.

While her words seemed prophetic, Gummy jokingly complained that because of her husband's newfound success, people have been contacting her agency to hire Jung Suk to perform at events, Soompi reported.

She added that she even called out her husband for barging into her territory and for taking all her work. Despite her complaints, she showed how proud she was of her hubby by singing a few bars of "Aloha" in her version. After reaping praise for her performance, Gummy said that the original singer performed the song better.

It can be recalled that when "Aloha" came out, it unexpectedly topped multiple music charts for several weeks. In an interview, Jo Jung Suk said that he did not expect the song to be loved so much. He said that even though singing was a new experience to him, he was thankful to the fans for embracing the song as a source of many happy memories, Koreaboo reported.
