Prince Harry went Christmas tree shopping in Montecito with Meghan Markle on Tuesday, where he was mistaken for a salesman by a young customer who had no idea of his background.
According to People, a Twitter user shared the funny story about Prince Harry's encounter with the little boy. The netizen said that there weren't many people on their lot that day, but when this family arrived, their son ran up to Prince Harry and asked if he was selling the Christmas trees.
The user didn't share how the Duke of Sussex responded to the surprising encounter and his tweets have been switched to private. But Prince Harry, who enjoys the presence of kids, likely laughed off the child's mistake.
In 2017, Prince Harry was caught on video munching on popcorn while watching the Invictus Games when a toddler tried to swipe his food. The Duke of Sussex pretended to hide his food, but he shared and then played with the little girl.
This Christmas, Prince Harry and Meghan look forward to decorating their new mansion for the holidays. It will be their first Christmas in the U.S. with their 19-month-old son Archie Harrison.
Last year, the Sussex family spent the holiday in Canada with Meghan's friends, as they were contemplating moving stateside and leaving their royal roles behind. Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, joined them in Canada last Christmas.
Royal observers expected Harry and Meghan to fly back to London for Christmas 2020 since they skipped last year's royal family reunion. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's travel plans had to change significantly because of the pandemic.
Similarly, the royal family will have to make adjustments this year by foregoing their traditional Christmas celebrations due to the government's restrictions. While Queen Elizabeth might long to be with her family, including the Sussexes, she will have to stay within her protective bubble with Prince Philip at Windsor Castle.
Meanwhile, it's not the first time Harry and Meghan have been spotted shopping for fresh Christmas trees. In 2016, when they were dating, the couple visited Pines and Needles in Battersea.
A staff of the London shop told Hello that the Sussex pair arrived at 8:30 p.m. One of them immediately recognized Meghan because she's the actress from the TV series Suits. The witness said both of them wore hats and gloves.
