SEVENTEEN became the pioneers for another new award for the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

According to a report by All Kpop, SEVENTEEN bagged a newly created award for the 2020 MAMA. This year, they received the Notable Achievement Award.

SEVENTEEN also took home prizes for Worldwide Fans' Choice Top 10 and Global Favorite Performer at this year's ceremony.

It can be recalled that last year, SEVENTEEN also received the Breakthrough Achievement, the first time that the award was given out by the Mnet Asian Music Awards.

The trend was not lost on fans, who took to social media to celebrate the group's victory. Some fans said that SEVENTEEN was blazing the trail so well that MAMA had to create new categories to keep up.

Some fans even joked that MAMA was creating the new awards to find a reason to invite SEVENTEEN to perform for the show.

Despite the pandemic, SEVENTEEN has been enjoying great success both for their local and international comebacks.

It can be recalled that their Japanese single and albums broke records in Japan's Oricon chart and boosted their popularity in Japan. Their Japanese single "Fallin' Flower" received a double-platinum award while their Japanese album also topped the Orison chart, Soompi reported.

Because of their popularity in Japan, they were invited to join the 2020 FNS Music Festival on December 9.

After their stint on the Japanese year-end show, SEVENTEEN was confirmed as one of the performers for the upcoming The FACT Music Awards on December 12.

Among the big-ticket acts who will join the event are BTS, MONSTA X, GOT7, Super Junior, (G)I-DLE, GOT7, ITZY, TWICE, IZ*ONE, Kang Daniel, MAMAMOO, and Stray Kids, Billboard reported.

2020 will be the third year that the awards show will be held, but this time around, there will be no audience because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The show will happen at the Gocheok SkyDome.

The FACT Awards is organized by THE FACT Co. and FANN STAR. The winners are determined based on album sales and digital song sales, along with fan votes and scores from a panel of judges.

BTS took home multiple honors last year for Grand Prize and Listener's Choice, Best Album, Idol Live Popularity, and Artist of the Year awards. Stray Kids, The Boyz, and (G)I-DLE bagged Year's Dance Performer awards, while Next Leader awards went to TXT and ITZY.
