SWAT season 4 episode 6 will serve as the winter finale of the crime action drama. Only a few episodes were released this calendar year since production hasn't immediately started due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Still, "Hopeless Sinners," will deliver a lot of interesting stories for the characters.
SWAT season 4 episode 6 sees the team going on a dangerous mission that involves a religious leader, which is a reference to the episode title. Based on the synopsis, Chris Alonso (Lina Esco) will be taking the team to her personal mission.
They will try to save a teenage girl, whose life in potential danger. The team goes after the charismatic, yet predatory religious leader (Sean Patrick Thomas). He is using his church so that many will join him, but he's actually doing this for illicit gain.
Beyond this case, a personal story is coming for Hondo Harrelson Jr. (Shemar Moore) in SWAT season 4 episode 6. His storyline has been at the front and center of the current installment, with the premiere going back in time to address his life in the past.
Now, Hondo is, once again, caught in the middle of a complicated situation. He receives alarming news, in which he learned that Darryl Henderson's (Deshae Frost) father, Leroy (Michael Beach), was released from prison. This could cause a significant change in Darryl's life moving forward.
He's been trying to live his life as normal as he could. But, now that Leroy is out of jail, he may have a hard time adjusting to everything. Darryl is hoping that his situation won't change even if his father is a free man. However, that won't likely happen as tension arises between Leroy and Hondo.
Meanwhile, one more episode is coming before SWAT season 4 episode 6. The title of episode 5 is "Fracture" and it will address an issue that's relevant in the real world. The mayor asks Hondo to work on something, which leads to him feeling conflicted.
He was tasked to be the public face of a new outreach campaign. This project was made to improve the stature of the Los Angeles Police Department in the Black community. Hondo seemingly has concerns about this particular matter.
He may not be entirely interested in taking charge of this campaign. Instead, Hondo probably wants to do it so he could serve as an example and inspire others. The series has been addressing topical issues over the past years, and this is an example that they'll continue doing it.
SWAT season 4 episode 6 airs on Wednesday, Dec. 16, on CBS.
