There are rumors an anime adaptation of the hit manga series Chainsaw Man is about to hit the small screen. Although its creator, Tatsuki Fujimoto, has yet to confirm the news, the manga's ending and an upcoming big announcement about it only heighten the claim.

Chainsaw Man manga is about to end over the weekend, and Fujimoto teased there would be an important announcement along with it. Although it remains to be seen what this big reveal will be all about, fans can't help but predict that it will be an anime adaptation.

The news about the new anime series is spreading like wildfire. According to HITC, everything started when an unofficial Shonen Jump News Twitter page posted an unconfirmed update that a "TV anime adaptation" of the dark-themed manga series would be produced.

To add more fuel to the fire, Fujimoto revealed he is about to make an "important announcement" about the series. Would it be the Chainsaw Man anime adaptation?

There are also rumors that the MAPPA studio will handle the series' animation if it will be in the works. Anyhow, either the production company or the author himself, is yet to confirm the claim. So, fans have to wait and see what this announcement will be all about.

Comicbook added that with this news, the series started to trend. Fans couldn't help but freak out with the report, showing their excitement if the anime would come to light.

What makes fans more excited is knowing that MAPPA will possibly handle its animation after making a big name in the industry. So far, it has produced some of the most renowned anime series of today, like The God of High School and Jujutsu Kaisen. It also helms Attack on Titan Season 4 from its old studio, Wit Studio.

With these feats, fans are now crossing their fingers to see a future Chainsaw Man anime under MAPPA. One fan said he would surely watch the series if it comes to fruition.

Another one foresaw its animation would be sick if MAPPA would handle it. Some wish the rumors are true, while others are now looking forward to seeing the animated version of The Gun Devil arc.

Fans' excitement is quite understandable, knowing how successful Chainsaw Man manga is. In the 2021 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! or This Manga is Amazing guidebook, it revealed Fujimoto's masterpiece made it to the number one spot of the male readers. In addition to its success, the manga's nine compiled book volumes have a total of 5 million copies in circulation, per Anime News Network.

Chainsaw Man is now on its final stage and will have a stage presentation at the Jump Festa '21 on December 19 to 20. The manga series is set to end on Monday, December 14.
