The Flash season 7 is still a couple of months away but fans have been getting a lot of updates on what's coming in the superhero drama. The series will address first the remaining storylines in season 6 before moving forward in the next chapter. Then, some fan-favorite villains might be returning to cause chaos.

One of the series stars teased that The Flash season 7 is going to be bringing some notable Big Bad in the past. During the CCXP Worlds 2020, Cecile Horton actress Danielle Nicolet hinted at the appearance of major villains in the latest installment, though she hasn't revealed who they could be.

Nicolet made it clear that they weren't allowed to tell what's coming in the new season, but she teased that they always have "time travel, on some level, happening." The actress noted that "some bad guy favorites" might be paying a visit.

While she didn't name any returning characters, there are a lot of candidates on the list. Over the past years, the series has already incorporated time travel in the story. It allowed Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) to come across his past nemeses such as Savitar and Zoom.

And even without the time travel elements, the show managed to bring some Big Bad from the past. There would be several ways on how to bring fan-favorite villains in The Flash season 7. For now, fans have to wait and see who these characters could be.

Tom Cavanagh's Eobard Thawne/The Reverse-Flash is at the top of the list. He's always been a huge thorn in the titular superhero's side. Even though he was defeated numerous times, he still finds a way to return and bring more chaos.

Another potential candidate is Sendhil Ramamurthy's Bloodwork, given that he's been teased back in the sixth installment. He was last seen in episode 17, so he could resurface again to cause more troubles for Barry and the rest of the Team Flash.

Beyond the appearance of certain villains, the early run of The Flash season 7 is going to focus on the storylines left in the previous season. It would be a continuation of the Mirror Master/Eva McCulloch's (Efrat Dor) storyline, as well as Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) still stuck in the Mirrorverse.

In another report, the series temporarily halted its production recently after one staff member tested positive for COVID-19. Yet, The Flash season 7 will still proceed with its premiere schedule, which is on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, on The CW.
