The Flash season 7 is confirmed to be premiering next year on The CW. The cast and crew returned to work after a hiatus due to the current global health crisis. However, a recent report noted that the superhero drama suspends its production following a positive COVID-19 test.

According to a new report from Deadline, The Flash season 7 pauses filming after one of the team members working on the series in Vancouver tested positive for COVID-19. This was said to be confirmed as testing is being conducted by The Flash studio Warner Bros to all of its employees.

In order to ensure the safety of production employees, the series temporarily halted its production, and contact tracing has been initiated. As per sources, the studio is making adjustments to its schedule to resume filming safely.

CarterMatt noted that the shutdown is unlikely to affect the premiere of The Flash season 7. The CW holds back most of its programming until 2021, allowing the shows to have flexibility in terms of filming. The delay won't impact the official release date of the superhero drama.

In a related report, the COVID-19 pandemic is one of the major reasons why the series hasn't started production early. When the new chapter kicks off, the top priority is to address the storylines left in season 6 before proceeding to a new chapter.

Although the pandemic won't be tackled, the real-life health crisis impacted how the series is being presented. Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Eric Wallace noted that they won't be able to have huge crown scenes this time around due to the new regulations implemented.

Fans will see a few changes in the story to accommodate the current global health crisis. While fight scenes will still be featured, they'll be presented differently. There are filming restrictions that needed to be followed, along with health guidelines and protocols.

As for what's coming in The Flash season 7, Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) is the biggest concern here. She's still stuck in the Mirrorverse and there's uncertainty whether she'll be able to escape or not. The good thing is that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) won't stop until he gets his wife back.

The two will be reunited in the early run of the new season, as Patton teased to TV Insider that Iris is coming out very soon. Also, the actress noted that fans will see what happened to the character during her time inside the Mirrorverse.

The Flash season 7 will premiere on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, on The CW.
