The Flash season 7 is not premiering until 2021 on The CW. The cast and crew weren't able to start filming immediately due to the current global health crisis. Despite the delay, the series has been sharing a lot of details and updates as to what's coming next in the story.

One of the biggest questions entering The Flash season 7 is whether or not Iris (Candice Patton) can escape the Mirroverse. She was trapped there for most of the second half of season 6, and her time there may have changed who she is.

The good thing is that she'll possibly reunite with her husband, Barry (Grant Gustin), in the early run of the new season. The original finale of the previous installment wasn't filmed and the story here might be revolving around her. What's more is that Iris' return was hinted by Patton during the recent DC Fandome.

In a report from TV Insider, Patton teased that Iris will come out very soon when they pick up The Flash season 7. The actress said it would be interesting to see how her time in the Mirrorverse has affected her character's life, given that she's been stuck with a supervillain, Eva/Mirror Mistress (Efrat Dor).

While it could take some time for Barry and Team Flash to get her out of the Mirrorverse, Patton made it clear that everyone will work together in order to save her. But then, it remains to be seen whether or not there would be some resentment after everything that happened.

There could be some residual mental effect on Iris. She's been in the Mirrorverse for quite a long time and this could have hugely impacted her. She may not be the same exact person in The Flash season 7, and Barry may need some time to adjust and accept his wife's changes, as well.

Beyond Iris' storyline, the upcoming installment is planning to bring Godspeed as a villain. What's odd here is that he doesn't have a tangible connection to the titular character. There must be a reason for his anger. Yet, he could just be a clone and the real villain will surface at some point.

Also, we can expect a lot of interesting stories for Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) in The Flash season 7. Reportedly, he'll be a way for the series to reference some social issues in the world. The character will be changed because of the current events and will be shown in a "sci-fi superhero way."
