The Knight Templar theory becomes the latest focus in The Curse of Oak Island season 8. Brothers Rick and Marty Lagina have been investigating this over the past years, as they believed that it could lead them to the location of the original Money Pit.

In the fifth episode of The Curse of Oak Island season 8, the team studied the boulders on the island. The Laginas suspected that they could find more clues about the speculated treasure. The fellowship set aside their recent discoveries to dive deeper into the Knight Templar theory.

They believed that the geometric figure -- which was a treasure map -- on the paintings of Nicolas Poussin could lead them to the Money Pit. In episode 4, they found a perfect line starting from Versailles, passing through the Temple Mount, and ending in Oak Island.

The discovery prompted the team to speculate that the Knights may have buried the treasure on the island. Their theory was further fuelled after Erin Shelton brought in the Zena Halpern map. She explained that the boulders might've been served as anchors -- pointing them to the Money Pit.

Marty has doubts about the Zena Halpern map, but he believes in Erin. The team began digging again to find more clues about the location of the speculated valuable items. While they didn't find a lot, they were able to unearth a rock with markings on it.

Alex Lagina attempted to crack the mystery about it -- including whether it is natural or man-made. The team also found a "lock," which they believe to belong from a cabinet. Their discoveries further excite them from finding the location of the Money Pit.

The sixth episode of The Curse of Oak Island season 8 is titled "Seaing in Believing." It will continue to see the team investigating the mysterious island, as well as the Knight Templar theory. They won't stop looking for more clues about the legendary treasure.

Meanwhile, the team made other significant discoveries in the early part of The Curse of Oak Island season 8. For instance, Gary Drayton unearthed an old coin with a hole in the center of it. The fellowship speculated that the item probably belongs to the Chinese.

Also, they discovered an oxen trail, suggesting that heaving industrial activities occurred on the mysterious island. The team suspected that the path could direct them in the Money Pit. However, this wasn't addressed as the investigation shifted to the Knight Templar theory.

New episodes of The Curse of Oak Island season 8 arrive every Tuesday night on History Channel.
