Daniel Ezra's Spencer James will further experience changes with his life entering All American season 3. The trailer was unveiled recently where it featured the character making another huge decision. He'll be returning to South Crenshaw High once the latest installment premieres next year.

All American season 3 sees Spencer's back at his former school for the sake of his family and those who need him. However, he recognized that this is such a risky move since he gets less exposure in South Crenshaw High compared to what he would've gotten in Beverly Hills High.

The good thing is that Coach Billy Baker (Taye Diggs) follows him, so they could work together. Still, other problems are coming for Spencer. He's going to be dealing with the tensions from his former teammates while trying to make a name for himself on the field.

He tried to convince his friend at Beverly Hills High that nothing will change even though he returned to his old school. While Spencer meant what he said, Jordan Baker (Michael Evans Behling) reminds him that the color of his jersey has changed -- meaning they're on a different team now.

The first poster of the third installment has been unveiled, as well. The key art comes with a tagline, "Remember where you came from." It also highlights Spencer, Coach Billy, Jordan, Olivia Baker (Samantha Logan), and Tamia "Coop" Cooper (Bre-Z).

Meanwhile, All American season 3 is going to address topical issues, including racism. Spencer needs to navigate his new life and secure his future at the same time. Also, football scenes will still be featured as the sports drama found a way on how to film these scenes amidst the COVID-19 outbreak.

In a previous interview with Variety, showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll shared some of the challenges they've encountered while working during the pandemic. One of the major problems is that young adults love to throw parties, which can't be incorporated this time around.

Carroll said they started writing the script at the end of February, and when the health crisis hits, they flagged scenes with a lot of extras. In terms of parties and huge social gatherings, they scaled it down since the heart of the story always comes in "private moments between core characters."

Like other shows that resumed production during the pandemic, All American season 3 hired Medcor health specialists. Also, all of the cast and crew members are following strict health precautions and guidelines to ensure their safety on set.

All American season 3 premieres on Monday, January 18, 2021, on The CW.
