All American season 2 is, officially, arriving next month and the trailer of the soapy football drama has been released as well. From the looks of it, it seems like Spencer James needs to make a huge decision.
The trailer of All American season 2 teased what would happen to the characters in the next season. Spencer (plays by Daniel Ezra) has to fix his mind, which was already teased at the end of the first season. He needs to choose if he'll stay at Beverly High School or move back to Crenshaw to play for his dad Corey James (Chad L. Coleman).
"I just don't understand why everything's gotta be so hard," Spencer said at the start of the trailer.
At the end of the clip, however, it featured Spencer and Layla Keating (Greta Onieogou) spending time at the beach. Then, she told Spencer he's about to become the "big man on the campus," which likely hints he'll be staying at the Beverly Hills High. It makes sense if he does stay, especially after winning the championship.
In another part of the trailer, one of the scenes featured everyone in Crenshaw gathered around, and looks like a memorial. It raises a question of whether they're in remembrance of Shawn or a new tragedy occurred. But, before the clip showed the memorial, a fire truck passed by, and many speculated terrible things might happen in Crenshaw early in the season.
The trailer also featured Laura Fine-Baker (Monet Mazur), who appeared devastated. She's crying on the bathroom floor while a nervous Olivia Baker (Samantha Logan) was walking in behind her. Laura has gone through a lot in the previous season, especially when she found out Billy Baker's (Taye Diggs) infidelity. But, did something else happen that triggered her meltdown?
Also, is Tamia "Coop" Cooper (Bre-Z) still in danger in the upcoming season? While Tyrone Morris (Demetrius Shipp Jr.) is already gone, it seems like Coop is still in trouble as she needs to deal with the cops. The trailer showed someone has spraypainted "snitch" on her locker. Who would it be? Should we be worried about Coop again?
Meanwhile, in a related report, showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll also teased All American season 2 will open with a new football season, but not with a net school year. Thus, the events happened in the previous season will still be explored, though the new installment will reportedly highlight the seven versus seven games as well.
All American season 2 is set to premiere on Monday, October 7, on The CW.
