Fans are now looking forward to the coming of Boruto Chapter 54 after the previous chapter's cliffhanging ending. This will reveal what happens to Sasuke after Momoshiki took over Boruto and stabbed him in the eye.
A lot happened in Chapter 53 that surprised fans. However, what they wanted to see is what would happen to Sasuke in Boruto Chapter 54 now that his rinnegan is destroyed.
According to BlockToro, Momoshiki wants to take his revenge against Naruto and Sasuke after what they did to him in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations movie. In the next chapter's preview, it revealed that the "power of connection would exceed the command."
It also teased who attacked Sasuke. Elsewhere, Momoshiki has successfully overtaken the whole of Boruto.
Hence, it was not Boroshiki that attacked Sasuke but Momoshiki, who was controlling Boruto. The future timeline history also confirmed Boruto destroyed Konoha village after he turned evil.
This time, Kawaki is the one who defends the people. Boruto will then go to hiding after Momoshiki makes him kill Sasuke or Naruto, both badly injured. By the looks of it, Boruto Chapter 54 is about to take a dark turn.
In Boruto Chapter 53, Kawaki arrived at where Isshiki was. He then suddenly disappeared, surprising Amado, Shikamaru, and others in Konohagakure, International Business Times.
Amado feared that they would be out of options if Isshiki managed to take Kawaki. The scene then shifted to Kawaki, looking after Isshiki, who revealed he only had five minutes left to live.
Kawaki remembered Amado's plan to make him avoid Isshiki so that he couldn't put another Karma in him that could result in their win. Isshiki had been preparing to implant Karma on Kawaki's body, so Naruto advised him to run away from the villain.
So when Isshiki stomped on Naruto's chest that made him passed out, Kawaki ran fast. Sadly, Isshiki managed to grab him by the neck, but Sasuke switched places with Kawaki to save him.
Sasuke told Kawaki to use a mineral dust bomb as a "diversion" against Isshiki, as the latter used Byakugan to find him.
In desperation to get Kawaki, Isshiki took Naruto hostage and warned to kill him if Kawaki wouldn't appear. Kawaki suddenly appeared, letting Isshiki implanted Karma on him.
However, Kawaki used Shadow Doppelganger to trick him and sent his clone instead. After five minutes, Isshiki's body started to disintegrate, which marked his end.
The battle ended with Momoshiki completely taking over Boruto's body that would continue in Boruto Chapter 54. The new chapter is set to be out on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, per Omnitos.
