Meghan Markle could soon have another accomplishment to add to her profile as she is reportedly planning to become a published author under her Archewell brand with Prince Harry.

Daily Mail reported that Meghan's lawyers are trying to secure a trademark that will allow the Sussexes to publish "fiction and non-fiction books on a variety of topics." Once approved, this will also legally allow them to come up with magazines or periodicals.

Meghan has some writing experience with her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig. The Duchess of Sussex used to touch on topics like food, travel, fashion, and health, but the insider revealed that she has always dreamed of releasing a novel.

The source added that Meghan had been assured that whatever she writes and publishes as a book would be a hit, whether it's a children's story, a story for grown-ups, or a powerful message that would work alongside their brand.

Royal commentators Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito of the Royally Obsessed podcast said that the Duchess of Sussex's true calling could be a food writer because she's great at descriptive writing. After reading extracts of her entries on her former blog, Bowie exclaimed that she had so much fun reading the "enlightening" content. The two podcast hosts agreed that Meghan has a real talent for putting words together, adding that she has perfected the art of writing.

In her first year as a member of the working royals, Meghan apparently didn't need a speechwriter because she crafted her own. Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie said in a 2018 interview on ABC that this was an unusual move because members of the royal family usually rely on other people for their speeches. However, the Duchess of Sussex got in the habit of scribbling her own messages and would sometimes be up for days to write what she wanted to say.

It comes amid reports that Harry and Meghan might also release a series of self-help books to add to their growing list of commercial deals with the media. Royal biographer Katie Nicholl said that this could be their next goal after scoring with Netflix and Spotify, especially since the Duchess of Sussex is a fan of these types of books.

Nicholl said that Harry and Meghan are following in the examples of former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama, who have a Netflix deal, a Spotify podcast, and several memoirs. However, Harry and Meghan will not likely come out with a tell-all book about their royal life with respect to Queen Elizabeth and the monarchy.
