One Piece Chapter 1001 may take things in a different direction by showing the past of Kaido and Big Mom. The manga will give fans a glimpse of these two Yonkos' backstory, revealing their time as part of Rock Pirates and more.

Kaido and Big Mom have been connected for a long time. They were once part of the Rock Pirates, making them more dangerous.
Hence, fans want to have a peek at their lives when they were young and the controversial God Valley incident that changed everything. Eiichiro Oda may finally give fans some details about the said event or Kaido's "fish-based devil fruit."
One Piece Chapter 1001 may also reveal why Kaido owns Big Mom a huge debt. However, there are also predictions that it may continue its storyline, where Luffy, Zoro, Kid, and Killer face Kaido and Big Mom.

However, there are reports Weekly Shonen Jump will be on vacation after One Piece Chapter 1000's release on Sunday, January 3, 2021. After that, it will return to its usual programming.
