Many celebrities went out of their ways to help others amid the pandemic crisis. Just right before Christmas, Kim Kardashian did the same thing via social media.

On December 22, the Keeping Up With The Kardashian star shocked the public upon announcing her $500 giveaway toward the first 1000 individuals who would give their $cashtag in the comment section of her post, alongside the hashtag "KKW Holiday." She said that the past year "has been hard" for many people, adding that several families and individuals continue to worry about their respective rents and foods.

In line with this, Kim said that she wanted to "spread the love." She, then, explained the mechanics of her giveaway, which many netizens immediately followed.

While the whole deed was, indeed, helpful to many people, Cheat Sheet said that some netizens were "skeptical" of Kim Kardashian, as well as her pre-Christmas move. In a Reddit thread, Redditors raised their concerns and speculations about the effort.

One individual claimed there were rumors about Kanye West buying Kim Kardashian a "private island for Christmas." The same commentator noted that the KKW Beauty founder was probably planning to "calm down the slander" from the public.

Others appeared to have given the same notions. Another Redditor even explained that the post, along with the actual generous move, is a "sponsorship" from Cash app, which is the platform she used to send all the money.

As stated, it is likely that the app paid the reality star for doing it. It is, reportedly, a possibility, as well, that the deal is worth 500,000, apart from the giveaway.

Some netizens are positive that this might be the case because Kim Kardashian used the hashtag "partner" at the end of her post. This, also, led many people to conclude that it was not her money at all.

But, whether it is her money or not, 1000 individuals received $500 after following the steps Kim instructed them to do. Some Twitter users even posted a screenshot of the "receipt" of the giveaway, proving that they, truly, received the money through the mobile app.

The same people, also, thanked Kim Kardashian for doing it. "Words cannot express how thankful I am," one netizen said, adding that the celebrity is "amazing for being so generous" before Christmas.

"Thank you for helping [people] during these difficult times," another follower replied. "I'm in tears," a different Twitter user shared after posting a screenshot of the transaction Kim made.
