SEAL Team season 4 is returning with its new episodes next week on CBS. The current installment of the military drama has just only released four episodes, but it already delivered a lot of intense moments. But, beyond the action, more personal and romantic stories are coming, as well.

In terms of relationships, Sonny Quinn (A.J. Buckley) and Lisa Davis' (Toni Trucks) storyline will further play out in SEAL Team season 4. Many were rooting for the two, even though things between them seemingly fell apart in the third installment.

In a recent interview with TVLine, showrunner Spencer Hudnut discussed what lies for Sonny and Davis' relationship moving forward. He explained that the two manage to make it through their own journeys in the previous season. They discovered a lot of things while there weren't together.

Sonny and Davis broke up and entered a new relationship with new partners. Despite that, Hudnut teased that the two always find a way to get back to each other. Now that Davis is settled with her job, she could have more time dealing with her personal life.

There is no guarantee that Sonny and Davis will get back anytime soon, yet SEAL Team season 4 is likely setting up a big storyline for the two. Perhaps, certain events may happen that could cause them to confront their real feelings for each other.

Meanwhile, Ray Perry (Neil Brown Jr.) is the biggest concern when the series returns with its fifth episode, "The Carrot or the Stick." He was caught up in the middle of a dangerous situation following the massive events that transpired in episode 4, "Shockwave."

The Bravo Team will try to locate Ray by following this path to find out his whereabouts. Their missing brother was severely injured after the bombing at a café and was taken hostage by the bombers afterward. He is in grave danger, and everyone will do their best to rescue him.

When SEAL Team season 4 returns, fans will see Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz) pushing the Bravo Team to go to extreme lengths and cross dangerous lines to save Ray. At the same time, the latter is finding a way to survive the captivity. This is going to be an intense and action-packed episode.

In another news, Deadline reported that the surge of COVID-19 cases across Southern California prompted several shows to push back their scheduled production date. For the David Boreanaz-led series, filming is slated to begin on January 11 -- instead of the original date, January 4.

The good news is that SEAL Team season 4 will return with episode 5 on Wednesday, January 13, on CBS.
