Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, were the first two people who immediately reached out to Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, after her confession on ITV about her struggles under the royal limelight.

According to royal correspondent Rebecca English, Kate, especially, "repeatedly" got in touch with Meghan after watching her documentary interview from October 2019. In the said ITV feature, the Duchess of Sussex said that not a lot people have asked her if she was doing OK amid the negative press hounding her after she gave birth.

English said that Kate's attempt to reach out to Meghan has been "rebuffed." It left Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, feeling "deeply hurt" because the public thought that they gave Meghan the cold shoulder.

A year after that explosive confession, however, Meghan was able to clarify what she really meant when she said no one has been asking her if she was OK. In a podcast for Teenager Therapy, the Duchess of Sussex said that she was exhausted during that interview from their royal tour of South Africa with their baby, then four months.

Meghan said that she did not think about her answer and, instead, replied with honesty because she had a "moment of vulnerability" at that time, as a breastfeeding mom who was actually working. However, she felt her statement resonated with the viewers because everyone needs someone who's asking them if they are doing alright.

Meanwhile, Kate is yet to face her most demanding year, according to astrologer Debbie Frank. She might need to re-organize her working patterns because she will experience a "radical change" in 2021.

On the personal side, an insider said that Kate is hoping her children -- Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis -- will finally get more time together with their cousin Archie. Speaking with Us Weekly, the source said that the Cambridge kids adore their little cousin but they have yet to actually interact in person.

Archie hasn't been back to London since his parents decided to quit their royal life. The Sussexes were supposed to have their bonding moment with the royal family over the holidays but COVID-19 ruin their plans.

Harry and Meghan have not yet set any travel plans for 2021 as the COVID-19 threats are still present. Sources, however, say that the Sussexes will likely have a reunion with Kate and William sometime in the middle of the year, especially with the unveiling of Princess Diana's statue at Kensington Palace on her 60th birthday in July.
