The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 9 comes with the title "Rock, Paper, Serpents." Brothers Rick and Marty Lagina continue with their journey in finding the Money Pit on the mysterious island. They've been uncovering significant evidence, leading them to the path of the speculated treasure.

The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 9 will pick up the events in episode 8. In "Hog on the Bog," the Laginas and their team focused on Zena Halpern's map, which was first brought up by Erin Helton. She believes that the boulders could point them towards the direction of the Money Pit.

In the previous season, the team believed in the Knight Templar Theory. In fact, their fellow historians informed them that the geometric figures in the paintings of Nicolas Poussin could lead them to the mysterious treasure. This was further supported by their recent discoveries in the latest installment.

Zena Halpern's map has been the major focus, as well. After discovering a possible slipway in the swamp, the fellowship decided to do further excavation. All of them were shocked when they learned that the ancient map could've been pointing them to the treasure vault. This prompted them to make more investigations to locate the Money Pit.

The previous episode saw the Laginas, along with their team, working on Erin's theory -- which is the interpretation of Zena Halpern's map. She asked them to dig near the potential area of the Money Pit. However, they didn't find anything, leaving the place disheartened. Despite that, the team will do more digging in The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 9.

Alex Lagina and Tony Sampson also dive into the sea to find answers to the connection of the roadway in the ocean. But then, they lost communication with everyone else and didn't find much, as well. For now, this remains to be another mystery, in addition to the recent discoveries.

In the synopsis of The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 9, the team finds more evidence that the stone structure in the swamp could be a roadway. Their analysis of the serpent mound is estimated to be dated back to the Templars, suggesting that it's an important feature unearthed in North America.

The Curse of Oak Island season 8 episode 9 airs on Tuesday, January 5, on History Channel.
