Nancy Drew season 2 is officially coming within a few weeks on The CW. The early run of the upcoming installment will be all about the stories left in the season 1 finale. The mystery drama wasn't able to wrap up several storylines as production was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now that Nancy Drew season 2 is almost near its premiere, fans have been getting a lot of updates on what's coming for the titular character (Kennedy McMann) and the rest of the Drew Crew. They will be taking on new mysteries and more creepy creatures moving forward.
The latest installment kicks off with a premiere episode, titled "The Search for the Midnight Wraith." The story begins with Nancy and the Drew Crew still reeling from witnessing visions of their deaths. This time, they need to do whatever they can in order to stop the Aglaeca before it's too late.
While dealing with all of these, Detective Tamura (Ryan-James Hatanaka) arrives at The Claw to question Nancy. The titular character becomes a suspect in the mysterious assault of a comatose girl. This is an additional problem for her, and she must find a way to clear her name.
Beyond the premiere, Nancy Drew season 2 will bring more interesting stories. The previously-released trailer featured the Drew Crew facing creepy creatures, dealing with horrifying events, as well as uncovering untold secrets and new mysteries.
Nancy and her friends believed that the Aglaeca spirit killed Owen (Miles Gaston Villanueva). However, they eventually found out that an ordinary human being -- his own uncle -- murdered him. Now, the Drew Crew needs to face the consequences of their actions.
The trailer of Nancy Drew season 2 saw the Aglaeca horrifyingly coming for them. Everyone must find a way how to escape their situation, but they recognized that it would be hard for them to defeat the evil spirit. This will be one of the major plotlines of the latest installment.
The Aglaeca will be an essential part of the story to further drive the second installment. In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Noga Landau teased there's a lot more to come about the spirit's curse. The Drew Crew is in a dangerous situation and must pay the price of the actions.
Nancy Drew season 2 is set to premiere on Wednesday, January 20, on The CW.
